Princess Elizabeth Hospital, Guernsey – Intensive Care Unit. 2007/8.
Each of five images is an interpretation of the Guernsey landscape.
The Unit is of necessity, high-tech and clinical. These images help to soften and lend it colour. This makes it a more conducive workplace for staff, gives something to lighten visitors’ anxiety and assists in the patients’ healing process.
This project was achieved through the generosity of the Guernsey Health Services Trust.
MDF, acrylics. Sizes vary between 1.2m and 2.4m.
St Peters Church, Guernsey and Streat Church, Sussex. 1995 and 2001.
Crib figures based on 14th and 15th century Italian and Dutch paintings.
Once a year, churchgoers engage in the true meaning of Christmas, contemplating these figures set within a crib. Our medieval forbears would have done much the same whilst gazing on nativity paintings.
Birch ply, acrylics. Standing figure approx 30cms high.
